Board election results announced

The husITa board approved the results of the 2016 husITa ballot, many thanks to the 46 members of our mailing list who selected five from a slate of seven excellent nominees, they were spoiled for choice.

Congratulations to Gareth Morgan and Yu-Cheung Wong, our existing board members, who have both been elected for a further three-year term.

Welcome aboard to three new board members who join the husITa board for the first time:

  • Julie Gilliam: Lead instructional technology specialist for the University of Maryland School of Social Work in Baltimore, US.
  • Oyinlola Oluwagbemiga: Medical social worker at the University College Hospital, Ibadan Nigeria; and curator of electronic clinical social case management for social workers in two teaching hospitals.
  • Ann Wilder: Assistant professor of social work at Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas, US.

The board look forward to this fresh injection of talent and energy, and to the contributions you will make to husITa over the next three years

Thanks also to our three colleagues Derek Coursen, Gokul Mandayam and Andrew Quinn who will be standing down at the end of 2016. The board appreciate the contributions you have made and wish you all well in your future endeavours.

The year ahead promises to be a busy one for husITa as we plan for husITa18 (to be held in Dublin as part of SWSD2018), announce a best human services application award, and celebrate our thirtieth anniversary.

We wish all of our members and followers a peaceful and relaxing holiday. See you all in 2017.
